How Can I Tell If I’m Using E5 Production Silicon?

In general, if you purchased any Triscend E5 devices recently, you are using production silicon. Production devices do not have an “ES” designation in the part number. “ES” indicates that the device is an “Engineering Sample.”

The top marking on an E5 device, shown in Figure 1, indicates if the device is production silicon. If the second line of text has two fields, then the device is E5 production silicon. If the revision number field is missing, then the device is an earlier device revision and should not be used in a production design.
